Holy Week 2021

Holy week begins on Palm Sunday and is traditionally a week of somber reflection on the events preceding Jesus’ death: his triumphant entry into Jerusalem, his betrayal by Judas, his Last Supper with his twelve apostles, his crucifixion and death, and his burial in a tomb. Holy Week culminates in celebration with Easter (Resurrection Sunday) which is the centerpiece of the Christian faith.

Attached is a week-long journey through Holy Week which includes:

  • a scripture passage to read
  • a short devotional with some questions
  • a guide for families

Additionally, a daily video devotional will be posted on social media.

Our prayer for you is that through these resources, the Holy Spirit will meet you in powerful and incredible ways. We hope you can carve out time to read the scripture, listen to God, write down what he says, and then also discuss with others what God is speaking to you. We anticipate that the more you meditate on the significance of Jesus, your appreciation for Jesus will too increase. You may also want to include fasting (from food or other things) during the week, to heighten your awareness of dependency upon Christ.
